About Bryan Kocen

Bryan Kocen is a finance professional who spends his days and career assisting individuals and businesses in navigating the difficult landscape of financial planning. He now serves as president of The Kocen Financial Group, an investment advisory firm in Rancho Mirage, California, with over $170 million in assets offering services ranging from investment management to estate planning.

But Bryan’s impact extends far beyond the financial world—he’s made his mark as a dedicated community leader, particularly in Jewish philanthropy and the Boy Scouts of America, where his leadership has transformed countless lives.

Building a Foundation in Finance

When Bryan founded The Kocen Financial Group in 1991, he had a vision: to develop customized financial strategies that make sense. It wasn’t just about money management—it was also about what people wanted to achieve and how we could get them there.

Today, clients from all over the country rely on Kocen Financial Group for retirement planning, tax strategies, and business finance. Bryan pairs his expertise with genuine care for each client’s welfare, resulting in relationships that last for generations.

He also formerly worked as Chief Financial Officer at F Cubed LLC, an early-stage DNA detection device company.

His knowledge of investment structuring, financial budgeting, and regulatory compliance made him the guy to go to for anything finance-related. Through it all, Bryan has always been at the helm – helping clients preserve and grow their wealth in good times and bad.

A Personal Touch in Financial Planning

What sets Bryan apart from other financial advisors? He gets that everyone is at a different point on the financial journey. When he meets with a young family, he knows they are worried about college planning. When he meets people who are transitioning into retirement, he knows their biggest concern is what their estate plan looks like. And when he sits down with business owners, Bryan knows it’s all about growth strategies.

For Bryan, it’s not just about taking time to listen to potential clients and learn what they want. It’s about caring about the people he spends every day with. He believes that it starts with relationships and educating people on WHAT they are doing and WHY they are doing it.

Making a Difference in the Community

Service runs deep in Bryan’s blood. He has volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America for years and held numerous positions from unit leader to president, including serving two years as President of the California Inland Empire Council (2021-2023). His work with the National Jewish Committee on Scouting and leadership programs has developed many young leaders.

Bryan has also been very active in the Jewish community for almost 30 years. He has served on many boards with The Jewish Federation of the Desert and won the award for Young Leader of the Year in 1993.

For the last decade, Bryan sat on Pardes’s Board, a highly esteemed Jerusalem institution for Jewish learning. In 2023, he commissioned a new Torah in memory of his recently departed wife. This speaks volumes to his faith and commitment to keeping our religion alive for our kids and grandkids.

Education and Professional Excellence

Bryan Kocen received an MBA (Finance and Strategy) from the University Of Chicago Graduate School Of Business. Prior to that, he graduated magna cum laude from Union College with a degree in Managerial Economics. He also taught investments at The College of the Desert as an adjunct professor.

Beyond the Office and a Building a Lasting Legacy

When he’s not working with clients or giving back to the community, Bryan enjoys hiking, traveling, and immersing himself in new cultures. These experiences have helped him realize that everyone can teach you something and everyone has a story.

Bryan Kocen’s career is proof of what happens when you combine financial expertise with a genuine desire to make a difference. From working with clients on their financial destinies to mentoring the next generation of leaders, his impact can be felt far beyond his immediate community.

His commitment to both business and philanthropy reflects the fact that success should not be measured solely by money but also by the lives you touch and the communities you help build.

Through his sponsorship of the Chabad of Rancho Mirage Golf Tournament (2022-2025) and his 34-year membership in the Palm Springs Lions Club, Bryan proves that success in business and commitment to community involvement can — and should — coexist. His decades-long dedication to these organizations underscores his belief in long-term participation and unwavering support.

Throughout everything, Bryan approaches each endeavor with the same passion and drive that he exhibited at the start of his career. He reminds us all that true success is not only measured by professional accomplishments but also by leveraging said accomplishments to make a difference.
